The award-winning piece, Weaving the Story of Our Future, is a tribute to the
Santa Ynez Chumash. Wynk was called upon to visually communicate the story
of the Santa Ynez Chumash tribe, celebrate their cultural heritage and recognize
the possibilities for the future. Utilizing a backdrop of striking images of original hand-woven baskets and artifacts housed at the Chumash Museum and Cultural Center, we wove the stories of the unique and diverse culture of the Santa Ynez Chumash today with the heritage of their ancestors to create a keepsake piece that celebrates the foundation created for future generations.
